Grand Prairie Electrical Work Done Before the Season Turns

We handle panel upgrades, electrical repair, generator installation, surge protection and EV charger installation for homes in Grand Prairie, Arlington and Mansfield. We plan the work around the calendar, so your home is ready for heavy summer loads and storm season before they show up, not after.

Electrical Services for Your Home

Most of our work falls into two groups. One is fixing what is wrong now: electrical repair, code corrections and inspection fixes, and torque and cleans on tired panels. The other is getting your home ready for what is coming: panel upgrades, surge protection, generator installation, home battery backup systems and EV charger installation. We also do lighting installation, whole-home rewiring and remodel and addition wiring.

  • Electrician in gloves working inside an open gray breaker panel full of black breakers on a stucco exterior wall beside the electric meter, with a tool bag below

    Panel Upgrades

We replace worn or undersized panels with one sized for your AC, appliances and any EV charger, with the permit and inspection handled.

  • Electrician in gray gloves testing an opened wall outlet with a yellow multimeter beside a garage doorway, with a red tool bag and shelves behind

    Electrical Repair

We find why breakers trip, outlets go dead and lights flicker, then fix the cause and flag anything the next season is likely to strain.

  • Electrician in gloves and cap, seen from behind, mounting a glass pendant light to a ceiling box in a room with recessed lights and a stepladder

    Lighting Installation

New fixtures, recessed lights, ceiling fans and outdoor lighting, wired on proper boxes with switches and dimmers matched to the bulbs.

  • Dark gray EV charger mounted on a brick wall beside a white garage door, its cable coiled around the unit and metal conduit running down below it

    EV Charger Installation

Level 2 charger and 240-volt outlet installs, with a panel load check first so your car charges overnight without tripping breakers.

  • Electrician in a gray hoodie and cap pulls orange, yellow and white cable through bored wood studs in an open-framed home, with a breaker panel and cable spools nearby

    Whole-Home Rewiring

We replace worn, ungrounded or undersized wiring room by room, timed for cooler months so attic work is safer and your home keeps power each night.

  • Electrician in gloves wiring an open transfer switch box beside the electric meter on a brick house wall, with a standby generator on a concrete pad in the side yard

    Generator Installation

Standby generators and portable hookups wired through a transfer switch, sized to the loads you want running when the power goes out.

  • Electrician in dark sweatshirt and gloves testing an open wall outlet with a yellow multimeter in a garage, tool bag with screwdrivers on the floor

    Generator Service & Repair

Routine maintenance, load testing and repairs for home standby generators, so the unit starts and switches over when the power drops.

  • Plain white work van with an orange ladder on its roof rack, parked at the curb beside a red brick ranch-style home with a tan garage door

    Home Battery Backup

Quiet stored power that switches on by itself when the grid drops, sized to the circuits you actually need and installed with permit and inspection.

  • Electrician in gray gloves and dark hoodie working on wiring inside an open breaker panel in a utility area, with a tool bag and white pipes nearby

    Remodel & Addition Wiring

New circuits, outlets and lighting for kitchens, baths, garage conversions and room additions, roughed in while the framing is open and finished after drywall.

  • Electrician in gloves testing wiring with a clamp meter at an open breaker panel beside the electric meter on a stucco house wall, ladder and AC unit nearby

    Code Corrections

Flagged items on a home inspection or a failed permit inspection, corrected one by one and explained so the next inspection goes clean.

  • Electrician in a cap and gloves holding a clamp meter points at a breaker in an open garage panel as a homeowner watches beside a ladder and extension cord

    Surge Protection

A whole-home surge device at your panel, a grounding check, and protection for cable and data lines that bring surges in.

  • Low-angle view of an electrician in gloves working inside an open breaker panel on a stucco house wall beside an empty meter socket, with an aluminum ladder

    Torque & Cleans

We shut down your panel, clear out dust, and tighten every terminal to spec so loose connections don't overheat when your AC runs all summer.

About Grand Prairie Electrician

We're an electrical contractor based in Grand Prairie, and we work in homes here and in the towns close by. Our crew stays small by choice. That keeps our calendar realistic, and the people you talk to are the same people who know the details of your job.

We plan one season out. Ahead of summer, we check the panels and circuits that will feed the AC. Ahead of spring storms, we go over surge protection and backup power. Ahead of winter, we look at generators and transfer switches. Fewer late-night emergencies, and a home that keeps working.

What Moves the Price

No two panels or wiring runs look quite the same, so we set a price only after we have seen the job in person. These are the things that push a job up or down. We go over each one with you during the visit.

We give you a written, line-item estimate after we see the job. You approve it before we start, and if something changes once walls are open, we talk to you before doing more.

The size of the job
Adding one dedicated circuit is a short day. A 200-amp panel upgrade or a whole-home rewire takes more hours, more wire and more parts.
What we find behind the cover
A panel with loose connections, aluminum branch wiring or a brand that is no longer made can add work. We show you photos and explain why before we add it to the estimate.
Access
Attic runs in summer, crawl spaces, finished walls and long trenches out to a detached garage all take extra time. Open framing during a remodel is the easiest access there is.
Equipment you choose
A standby generator, a battery backup system or a smart EV charger each come in different sizes and brands. We help you pick one that fits your home's load, not the biggest one on the shelf.
Permits and inspection
Larger jobs need a permit and an inspection from the local jurisdiction. Some also need the utility to disconnect and reconnect service. We handle the paperwork and build that time into the plan.
Timing
Planned work is simpler than rushed work. Booking ahead lets us order parts and schedule the inspection without scrambling.

Why Homeowners Book Us

We are a small shop. The person who looks at your panel is the person who explains it to you.

  1. 01

We work ahead of the weather

We would rather swap a panel in March than in August. We book generator, surge and panel work in the cooler months when we can, so it is done and inspected before you need it. If you call in July, we still come out. We just tell you what can wait and what can't.

  2. 02

    Trained on backup power

We are NABCEP certified. That training covers how stored power and backup equipment tie into a home's wiring, which matters when we set up a battery backup system or a generator transfer switch.

  3. 03

    Time on the job

We have 5 years in business behind us. That is long enough to know which breakers give out first under a heavy cooling load and which shortcuts come back to bite people.

  4. 04

    We stand behind the work

Each job is covered by our 1-year workmanship warranty. If an install or repair we did gives you trouble during that year, we come back out and put it right.

  5. 05

    You see what we see

We take photos of loose lugs, scorched wire and anything else we find. You get a written estimate with each line spelled out before any work starts.

How a Job Runs

Most jobs follow the same four steps. Small repairs may wrap up in a single visit.

  1. 1

You call and we book a visit

Tell us what's going on or what you want to add. We set a time to come look at it in person.

  2. 2

    We test and look

We open the panel, check connections and test the circuits involved. You get photos and a plain answer on what we found.

  3. 3

    Written estimate

We write up the work line by line, with permits and any utility steps noted. Nothing starts until you say yes.

  4. 4

The work, the inspection and cleanup

We cover floors where we walk, keep power off only as long as needed and clean up before we leave. When a permit is involved, we meet the inspector and make sure the job passes.

What Homeowners Want to Know

Will you get the permit for my job?

Yes, any time the job calls for one. That usually covers panel upgrades, new circuits, generators, EV chargers and rewiring. We apply with the local jurisdiction, book the inspection and are there when the inspector arrives. The permit shows as a separate line on your estimate.

How much time does a panel upgrade take?

The panel change usually fits in one workday, and the power is off for part of it. A utility disconnect and reconnect, or a wait for the inspection, can push the finish out a few days. You get the whole timeline from us before work begins.

What makes one breaker trip over and over?

The usual reason is a circuit asked to carry more than it was designed for. It can also be a damaged wire, outlet or appliance sending current where it shouldn't go, or an old breaker that has started tripping too soon. Overloads show up most in summer, when the AC stacks on top of everything else. We test the circuit to find the actual cause instead of just swapping the breaker. If it trips again as soon as you reset it, leave it off. If you smell burning or see scorch marks, turn that circuit off and give us a call.

Is an EV charger possible in my garage?

For most homes, yes. First we check that the panel has space for a dedicated circuit and that the service can carry the added load. If not, we explain choices such as load management or a panel upgrade. Then we run the circuit, hang the charger and have it inspected.

When should I get my home ready for summer?

Late winter into early spring works best. Our calendar is more open, and the attic is still cool. It's the right window for a panel torque and clean, surge protection and any new circuits you want done before the AC works hard.

Is a generator or a battery backup system right for me?

Begin with two questions: which circuits must stay on, and how long an outage do you want to ride out? A standby generator runs on fuel and can carry larger loads for days. A battery is quiet and needs little maintenance, but it holds a set amount of energy. We check your panel, go over your list and recommend the one that fits.

What is a torque and clean, and is it worth it?

We turn the power off, open the panel, bring every lug and breaker connection to the manufacturer's torque spec and remove dust and debris. Years of warming and cooling work connections loose, and a loose connection gets hot. It's worth doing before summer load, more so on an older panel or one nobody has ever opened.

Is your work under warranty?

Yes. Our work comes with a 1-year workmanship warranty. If something we installed or repaired fails in that first year because of our workmanship, call us and we'll come back and fix it.
